What is the BioGro certification?

BioGro certifies farmers, producers, and manufacturers to show that every aspect of their process is compliant with New Zealand organic standards.

Organic is defined as avoiding or excluding the use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, antibiotics, growth modification and irradiation. Organic certification is the world’s most widely-used, secure and impermeable traceability system.

The BioGro-Certified symbol guarantees organic certification which requires international organic regulations to be met through a full organic certification process (USDA, JAS, COR, EU, etc.).

"New Zealand has no laws protecting how the word 'organic' is used. That means anyone can claim their product is organic even if they're far from it. The BioGro logo on an organic product is an assurance that it is genuine and that every input used in the production of organic products has been rigorously assessed, tested and controlled to align with organic values and integrity." - Luca Fant, BioGro Auditor
